1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using CapitalCalcs (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by an individual (sole proprietor) based in the State of Georgia, United States.

2. What CapitalCalcs is — and isn't

CapitalCalcs provides free, educational financial calculators and estimates, including tools for mortgages, auto and student loans, retirement and 401(k) projections, annuities, debt payoff, affordability, and related topics, plus market information and an optional AI assistant.

3. Accuracy & estimates

Calculations rely on the inputs you provide and on assumptions, simplified models, and third-party data that may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Actual rates, payments, returns, taxes, and outcomes will differ. You are responsible for verifying any figure before relying on it.

4. Accounts

You may create an account to save scenarios. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data; (c) scrape or harvest data except as expressly permitted; (d) misuse the AI assistant to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content; or (e) infringe the rights of others.

6. Affiliate links & third-party sites

The Service contains affiliate links and links to third-party websites. We may earn a commission when you use these links, at no extra cost to you (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of third-party sites, and your dealings with them are solely between you and that third party.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, logos, and software, is owned by CapitalCalcs and protected by applicable laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CapitalCalcs and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or financial loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service or reliance on any estimate. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CapitalCalcs and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Georgia.

12. Changes & termination

We may modify these terms or the Service at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, or your access to it, at any time.
